Acacia
Published: 31.07.2008 Categories: NewsThe flower of this plant is a symbol of purity and innocence, symbol of human immortality and revival, and an emblem of vernal equinox and annual resurrection of sun deity.
Recently we have been the witnesses of small but pleasant discovery granted to us by Mansura-hon Yusupova, needlewoman from Andijan. She brings us nice national dolls and textiles, embroidered with colored threads.
As we found out, there is no use in getting snickers and old rucksack out of lumber-room, jogging in stuffy route-taxi to get to the nearest suburb and spending the rest of the day in searching for leaves, roots and rinds, necessary to produce natural dye. All that is really needed is to walk several meters from porch, turn over the corner, and here it is, a common wonder – acacia.
As one can find in the botanic guide, the homeland of this tree is Australia, South America and Eastern Asia. The plant is fast growing, light-requiring, frost-resistant and, what is really important in city conditions, “smoke-and-gas-resistant”. That is actually the reason why acacia is widely planted in urban areas. The wood of acacia is used for decorative works and production of expensive gun beds and furniture. The bark is used in folk medicine and as a strong tanning agent.
- M.Y. – the dead small flowers should be gathered into sack (free from unnecessary rubbish), then boiled in the water. The decoction should then be filtered, and used to dye the threads and fabrics. As a result you will get soft green-to-yellow color, which is natural. Put love into you work, as it will get into your work-piece and to your clients.
Without any delay we decided to take the advantage of Mansura-hon advice in our Hand Made workshop. We have gathered the dead flowers and we are going to make the samples of dyed fabric the nearest days. The results of our work you can find in the soonest news. Though, we can say now that the color appeared unexpected - light yellow-primrose. Interested? Come and see.
If Thursday is a fish day
Published: 30.07.2008 Categories: NewsIf Thursday is a fish day, then Friday is a day of discoveries and nice acquaintances, anyone who doubts, please refer to D. Defoe’s “Robinson Crusoe”. And this day Humans have opened the workshop doors of Valeriy Yenin and Viktoria Troshina, masters of realistic painting school, (please see the “Human Arts” section), who have recently returned from their creative vacations. As the couple points out, this time they were attracted by “Kazakh waters”. They visited Alma-ata lake, Kapchagai water reserves, and, by invitation of their Chinese friends, Muynak hydro-electro-station (the construction is implemented with support of Chinese specialists).
V.Y. – the sketches cannot depict the outstanding size of the dam and the scope of the construction. Unforgettable impression!
The fascinating journey was ended by the deserved rest in waters of Borovoye.
Now the painters have busy schedule, they have to order their experience, work on the started materials and embody all the memories into their painting.
In September they participate in international art exhibition “KIAF-80”, which opens on 19 September in Seoul (South Korea). Among the participants are such famous painters as Iskra Shin, Alisher Alikulov and Nodir Shoandurakhimov.
We will stand for success of our painters on Korean lands.
This Friday, it seems that it becomes Human tradition, we have once again visited the workshop of Victoria Troshina and Valeriy Yenin, where we have met a businessman from South Korea, Mr. Yu, who is fond of Uzbek paining school. As we have already mentioned before, our friends will participate in International exhibition “KIAF-80” in Seoul.
Mr. Yu has come to Tashkent in order to assist our painters in arranging exit permits and contracts to be concluded with the organizers of the exhibition. His is accompanied by the counselor on fine arts of Korean Cultural Center, famous painter Iskra Shin.
We wish the Gentleman from Country of morning freshness to have piece in mind and prosperity of his business.
Almost all his songs are about love, they are sincere, lyrical and appeal to hearts of people from various countries.

It is calm in Human House bay, but a light breeze brings a nice client, who has decided to have a new “smart, fashionable and comfortable” suit (as the client has himself formulated), tailored on the threshold of his tour season. Please meet Mansur Tashmatov, the art director of jazz band of Uzbekistan and People’s Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
M.T. - in a week I have a busy tour: concerts in Almati, then a meeting with organizers of international competition in Istanbul and finally international jazz festival on the Black sea coast in Batumi. Among the participants are the stars Markus Miller (USA) and Tanya Maria (Brazil). Such an interesting person has visited Human House. We would like to add that Mansur Tashmatov speaks seven languages, including Georgian. Currently, he actively participates in various cultural events of our town, gives festival concerts and is engaged in pedagogical activities.

The Joint Project of the Uzbek designers with British Council
Published: 01.06.2008 Categories: NewsThis year in March a joint project of the Uzbek designers with the designers from London was held. The main idea of the project was the improvement of the level of knowledge in the field of the clothing design. During the week the designers were working at the cutting of authors’ wear and the creation of the mood board. The mood board directed Laura Miles and weavers of the Margilan factory “Edgorlik” to choose the colours and textures of fabrics.
The project is going on and these days the designers have obtained the fabrics which are brought from Margilan. The participants of the project are ready to start a final stage of the project – making of their articles of clothing. The next step of the project is defile and photo-session of the best works for the London magazine. And the prize for the participants of the joint project is a week travel to London.
